Tokyo Marathon 2016

March 9, 2016

Tokyo Marathon 2016 was held on February 28, with 36,648 participants running the course through the center of Tokyo. As this year is the 10th anniversary of the marathon, various enjoyable events and exhibitions were also held at the convention center.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government building was the starting point of the course, which then traveled by the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower, and Ginza neighborhood to the Tokyo Big Sight convention center.

The number of runners participating from overseas has been increasing and now accounts for 17% of all runners. Omotenashi volunteer hospitality staff welcomed runners and supported them in a variety of languages.

Kintetsu International has been an official partner of the Tokyo Marathon since 2009, offering runners a comfortable stay and services to ensure that they can be in their best condition on the day of the race.

After completing the marathon, runners enjoyed the After-Run Thanks Party.
